Urushi dries very slowly, it takes 1-2 days. Sometimes you need almost even a whole week.
Most components of Urushi are organic compounds such as “urushiol”, enzyme called “laccase”, and polysaccharide gum.
Urushi lacquer contains only a few percent of moisture although it’s liquid form and dries slowly.
Urushi is one of natural lacquers and has been used in Japan for over thousands of years.
